Install the recurring operating rhythm that drives initiatives forward and surfaces blockers before they become stalls.
Completion is not an event; it is the product of a cadence that returns to the work at a regular interval and asks, every time, what moved, what is stuck, and what happens next. Keep it tight and forward-driving. This is not a status recital.
| Step | What happens | Notes for this session |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Clear the done | Confirm what reached the Definition of Done since last time. Remove it from the active board. Acknowledge it. | |
| 2. Walk the blocked | For each blocked initiative, assign the unblock action to a named owner with a date. | |
| 3. Confirm next actions | For each active initiative, confirm the single next action that moves it forward. | |
| 4. Enforce finish-before-start | New initiatives enter only as completed ones clear, honoring the WIP limits. |
The cadence exists only to convert in-progress into done and to break blocks while they are small. If it drifts into status reading, it has failed; return it to the four-step agenda. Where a meeting rhythm already exists, this cadence slots into it as the progress-and-blockers review rather than becoming a separate meeting.
