Name the specific, observable outcome that means a new customer has succeeded, so onboarding has a clear destination and the whole pathway has a reference point for what "a customer who got value" means.
First value is the moment a customer reaches the result they bought and feels the purchase was worth it. It is not signing up, and it is not finishing your onboarding steps. Define it sharply.
A vague definition ("they are using it") produces vague onboarding. A sharp one ("they completed their first successful result and saw the benefit") gives every later step a clear target. Keep refining until the signal is something you could observe for any customer, not a feeling.
