Keep your risks visible and watched, so you notice changes and new risks rather than being surprised.
Consolidate your risks into a short, live register. For each, note its likelihood and impact, what you have done about it, and the early indicator you watch. The indicator column is what makes this a monitor and not a filing cabinet.
| Risk | Likelihood / impact | What we have done | Indicator we watch |
|---|---|---|---|
Name the early sign a risk is growing, a customer's share creeping up, a supplier wobbling, so you catch it before it fires. Keep the register short and live; a hundred-line register nobody reads is worse than a ten-line one that is watched.
